Day One: COOLUM BEACH
Coolum Beach Walking Football Inc. will host the 5th SUNSHINE COAST CUP on Saturday 19 September 2026. This year it will be played at the COOLUM FC ground (next door to the fields used in previous years - see venue details). We believe this will offer an improved playing surface and better toilet/change room facilities. As per previous years, BBQ and Coffee facilities will be available and event t-shirts will be on sale. Trophies and medals will be presented afterwards in the Coolum F.C. clubrooms with full bar facilities.
FORMAT
- 6 v 6 with goalkeepers and unlimited subs
- Games will be 20 minutes with no half time break
- The surface is grass
- Football boots are allowed but no metal studs.
- Shin pads are mandatory
- 5 size balls
- Hard peaked caps are to be worn backwards
- No jewellery to be worn and if you must wear a Fitbit or heart watch, this must be covered with a stretch band or tape.
CATEGORIES
At this stage we will have the following categories depending on at least FOUR teams registering for each category:
- Over 50
- Over 60
- Over 70
- All Female Over 40
- Mixed Social (at least TWO females on the pitch at ALL times).
Note: Players who have registered in the Over 50 and Over 60 categories are NOT able to play in the Mixed Social category.
VENUE DETAILS
The 2026 Sunshine Coast Walking Festival will be held at the home of COOLUM FC situated at 1936-1944 David Low Way, Coolum Beach QLD 4573. Please note that this is next door to the 2025 venue. A carpark is available at the venue and vehicles can also park on David Low Way. Some parking may also be available at the nearby RSL club. A fully qualified MEDIC will be present throughout the day - equiped with a defibrillator.
